Fifth graders from our elementary schools toured Gulfport Central Middle School today as they prepare for the next step in their educational journey. Students explored campus, met staff, and got a firsthand look at middle school life ahead of the new school year in July! 💙🧡

Employees were recognized for every five-year milestone reached in the district, honoring their dedication and service to our students, schools, and community. The afternoon was filled with smiles, laughter, special memories, and plenty of hugs to go around.

Kindergarten Preview Day is almost here! 🎒 Join us TOMORROW, May 21, from 8–10 a.m. for a fun and welcoming morning as future kindergarteners meet teachers, explore classrooms, and get a glimpse of what’s ahead for the new school year. Free summer meals are returning! ☀️🍎 Beginning Monday, June 8, through July 17, the Gulfport School District Child Nutrition Department will provide free breakfast and lunch for children 18 and under, and 21 and younger if disabled, at select school locations across the district. Last week at 28th Street Elementary School, students in Mrs. Jones and Ms. Baker’s first-grade class learned about the history of Cinco de Mayo. They explored the topic through a nonfiction story and celebrated with a festive nacho treat! 🇲🇽🫔 Learning comes to life when lessons are both educational and fun!
